Bananas with Chocolate Sauce

Incorporating fruit into your diet doesn’t have to be a chore. We’ll even go as far as saying it can be a treat! Combine some sliced bananas with this remarkably easy homemade chocolate sauce and you’ve got one of your 5-a-day as well as an indulgent pudding to boot. It’s also a great way of using up those bananas that are getting a bit too ripe.

Bananas with Chocolate Sauce

  • Ingredients

    4-6 Bananas Sliced
    25g Cocoa Powder
    50g Unsalted Butter
    50g Soft Brown Sugar
    3tbsp Milk
    4tbsp Chopped Nuts

How to Cook

1. In a pan, heat the butter, milk, sugar and cocoa power together. 

2. Once melted, cook on a low-medium heat for a couple of minutes, stirring constantly. The sauce should gradually thicken and become glossy and smooth.

3. Remove from the heat once it has reached a pouring consistency.

4. Slice the bananas and divide equally, then pour on the sauce and top with the chopped nuts. 

Spruce it up

If you want to treat the kids a little more (or even bring back those childhood memories), then serve onto thin crepes.
