Spicy Sausage Pasta

This is as easy and cheap as they come, but no less satisfying because of it. A great mid-week dinner, you can ease off on the spice if cooking for younger children, or use slightly pricier, more flavoursome sausages for an extra bit of flavour but regardless of the route you take, our Spicy Sausage Pasta is certainly a recipe you want to hand.

  • Ingredients

    8 Pork Sausages Cut into Chunks
    1tbsp Olive Oil
    1 Onion Finely Sliced
    1 Garlic Clove Crushed or Finely Chopped
    1 Red Chilli Deseeded and Finely Chopped
    1 Tin Chopped Tomatoes
    1tbsp Tomato Puree
    Large Dash of Worcestershire Sauce
    Black Pepper
    300g Macaroni

How to Cook

1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan and cook the chunks of sausage until they start to brown breaking them up with the back of a wooden spoon as you stir them around the pan.

2. Add the onions, garlic and chilli to the pan and cook until soft.

3. Pour in the chopped tomatoes then stir in the tomato puree and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to the boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes, adding a bit of water if it gets too dry. Season with salt and pepper if required.

4. Meanwhile, boil a large pan of salted water and cook the macaroni according to the packet instructions.

5. Once the pasta is cooked, drain then add to the sauce and mix together, making sure all the pasta pieces are coated. Serve.

    Really enjoyed this, have done it a couple of times now. I used penne instead of macaroni as its cheaper here in the UK. Quick easy and tasty :p
